There's an adage - the precise phrasing eludes me - that says you should listen to mad authoritarians' rants because they tell you what they're going to do.

I guess it depends how into the war the US gets, but a war against Russia could be pretty involved, supporting a war for Russia might be the more likely outcome at this point though ..
