“He thought it was funny,” Ms. Pirro said of the defendant in a video posted online. “Well, he doesn’t think it’s funny today, because we charged with him with a felony.”

To be fair to him, it was very funny

[–] Allonzee@lemmy.world 18 points 3 days ago

Isn't this like the quintessential Nazi skit to a T?

"He sot it vas funny. Iz it funny now? Vy aren't you laffing?"

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

Also, to be fair to him, at no point in the video does he appear to think any of this is even remotely amusing.

“He thought it was funny,” Ms. Pirro said of the defendant in a video posted online. “Well, he doesn’t think it’s funny today, because we charged with him with a felony.”

Does this mean he has a shot at the presidency now?

[–] nkat2112@sh.itjust.works 78 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You might be joking, but I think you raise an excellent point.

I can see people voting for a sandwich hurling dude who wasn't afraid to confront armed fascists.

I watched the video... He did not think any of what was happening was funny. At all. This dude was deadly serious, and the only person on that street who was reacting properly to what was happening.

He’ll be moved to Alabama where they’ll then ‘have to’ try the case there.

Imagine charging someone with a felony for throwing a sandwich and thinking you're doing the right thing. Absolutely unhinged snowflake behaviour.

Thought he got away too :(

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 days ago

That means next time use a real weapon, same charges !

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 69 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Fascists are lucky it was just a sandwich.

Someone's going to throw a molotov and I am going to laugh and laugh and laugh when those fascists burn to death while sobbing.

[–] Kraven_the_Hunter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 54 points 3 days ago (6 children)

If both are felonies, why use a sandwich?

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 16 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

You're asking a really, really important question here.

They keep abusing and corrupting the rule of law, and this slippery slope will lead to violence.

Seriously what a fucking awesome guy. He saw some fascist, racist shit and wasn't afraid to call them out.

[–] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

If we survive this regime… bro will certainly put that felony on his resume, with a link to the video.

Are those Reno 911 cops? Lmao, that was hilarious. I hope he doesn't get a felony though.

[–] Kirp123@lemmy.world 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

He will get charged with a felony. They will try to make an example out of him to discourage people from doing the same.

When our grandchildren ask what started the second american civil war, we'll have to say "so there was this guy with a submarine sandwich…"

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 18 points 3 days ago (1 children)

The real kicker is that we can tie this back to Harambe.

And the puritans of course

What a bunch of snowflakes

[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 42 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

GBH with a BLT? C'mon, that's a bit of a stretch.

I now have a mental image of a huge, normally aggressive agent rocking back and forth in a fetal position and sobbing, because a bit of lettuce and soggy bread touched his shoulder.

[–] atticus88th@lemmy.world 26 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Agents will now be using Abrams tanks for raids to protect them from crispy bacon.

I was going to say he deserves to be locked up for wasting a perfectly good sandwich, but then i saw it was from Subway. Pretty much all a Subway sandwich is good for is throwing at the gestapo.

"Be brave men. Those sandwiches are no match for our guns."

[–] Anissem@lemmy.ml 33 points 4 days ago (5 children)

It’s classified as an attack sandwich

I'm thinking I'm going to find some of those ziptie handcuffs

Because something occurred to me watching that. There were a LOT more people than those cops.

It's about time citizens start arresting cops for trying to incite violence by bringing armor and weapons to the streets..

Ironically, while MAGA sucks the NRA dick, and jerk it to the 2nd Amendment, civilians are not legally allowed to carry firearms in DC, a district Republicans are vying control of

[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 14 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Fascists will never fight something they don't believe they won't win. They are pure cowards. That's where the authoritarian beliefs come from.

I've lived my whole life with GAD. I get panicked by the stupidest things. Fear is easy to see. Cowardice is blindingly obvious.

3 armed and armored cops ran after a guy who threw a sandwich at them. They literally have nothing to fear, except the off chance that others think they can throw food at cops too without retaliation. They must maintain the lie that they are powerful, and the moment that gets shattered, their whole world comes undone.

[–] dhork@lemmy.world 19 points 4 days ago

I think the legal term for this is A-Salt and Buttery
