It's unfortunately common as Liberals and some Conservatives alike try to justify their historic pro-israel position in the face of the vast majority of the public now realizing just how fascist Israel has always been
It’s a depressingly common thread throughout history: find a scapegoat and run with it.
Which part? That it's stupid to try and put all the blame on Netanyahu, or that it's stupid to condemn liberals for trying to do it?
