What I love best about that song are the vocal renditions on YouTube. It's quite moving when it's sung without the pop beat.
In my early 20's I wrote a song like this where in the beginning I praise how awesome it is to be a vegetarian only to reveal that it was all a lie and I love eating animals.
NOFX's "Please Play this Song on the Radio" immediately comes to mind.
