This is going to be news to some USAians.
Crony capitalism is just capitalism
Unpopular thing to point out in libertarian spaces.
Building an opulent ballroom while making sure millions will lose their homes, go without healthcare, and starve? This sounds like the last days of the French monarchy.
It's actually just a distraction. The real corruption is the 5 trillion in tax cuts for billionaires and the 1 trillion in healthcare cuts for Medicaid to partially for it. If you're talking millions you're being distracted.
Even fucking billions don't count for much any more.
Lib. "Crony capitalism" is not a thing. It's just capitalism. There is no form of capitalism that doesn't involve cronyism, that is just the natural conclusion of private ownership.
I agree with you 100%, and Marx was very clear that capitalism is filled with theft and oppression. It's nice that Marx also at times rested his critique of capitalism abstracting all the crony-ness and analyzed capitalism with 'good intentions,' showing that even without the oppression/theft it's a failed system.
edit: misread!
Serious question about his supporters: Are they cool with this? Like, hey a $200 mio. ballroom at the white house is exactly what I voted for.
Who knows. I know there is a rift that has started within MAGA, over the Epstein stuff. I predict there will be no MAGA as it stands by the end of this reign of Trump, siting incidents like these with the ballroom, Zionist, pedos and more to come. Trump isn't worried about anyone, especially this term, as it is with all the presidents as they concentrate on their legacy (ego,) not their constituents, and campaign promises. The working class that voted for him will equally get a wake up call by terms-end, a come to Jesus moment.
Let them eat cake
"Crony" what a bullshit word. Lol
Hrm. Throne room under a different name.
He is planning on never leaving. Or he wouldn't bother. He doesnt do things with foresight unless FOR himself.
He's seriously going full force on the Midas Touch.
always has been, you can see pictures of his properties, tacky as fuck
Pedo ballroom
Domus Aurea
The scary part about the ballroom is that he wouldn't be building it at the WH if he expected to be out of there in 3 years. He'd be building it at Mar-a-Lago or something.
They’re going to find some amazingly gaudy things when the people finally storm the palace in twenty years or so.
- will be paid for by Trump and unidentified donors
lol like that fat ass will ever pay for anything with his money.
Unidentified donors, also known as taxpayers.
I'm surprised it'll be in the white house and not in mar-a-lago
He doesn't plan on moving out
You didn't read the article I guess. There is already one at Mar a Lago.
It also says he and donors will pay for it. Does anyone believe that I wonder.
donors
USA tax payers, probably.
Well, of course. Just like Mexico paid for the wall.
Xactly.
Aka regular capitalism
Oh, another "look at me, I'm fucking y'all raw and nobody ~~can~~ will stop me"
Need all that room to play hide and rape the kids.
Is it to celebrate the release of the Epstein files?
Better to get upset about a stupid ballroom than any other, more damning issue in the current news cycle that the current administration might prefer you forgot about...
I would think this guy was being so over-the-top cartoonishly evil on purpose just to get us to grow a spine and rise up to overthrow the corrupt government if we were actually growing a spine and rising up to overthrow the government.
It won't happen, under Capitalism, they have a large part of the working class, PMC class, walking on a salary vs debt thin edge, too afraid to change anything because their world would fall apart. It is a devious plan and it works, prevents them from grabbing pitchforks, and often even attacking those that are trying to rise up against the oligarchs.
One of the new episodes of Gumball has the answer to this. I never thought I'd see a kids show so blatantly just say it... EAT. THE. RICH.
There is no ethical capitalism
