Fun fact: that's a nod to the origins of the cocktail as the morning constitutional in pioneer days when tea, coffee, etc. were luxuries outside the means of the majority and doctors' prescriptions were largely as tinctures (alcohol) that became modern day bitters. The "Old Fashioned" is based on the simple recipe of whiskey & bitters with sugar to "help it go down". 🤓
