Bees almost never bother me. Wasps and hornets can all go fuck themselves tho.
Also, Bumblebees are jerks, but in a prank kinda way, if that makes sense? Never been stung by one, but they sure do like to hang out way too close and creep me out.

Lately every evening a bunch of bumblebees circle around my window. I live on the top floor and they seem to be going towards the rooftop, but they regularly bump into the window and it scares me because what if one of them suddenly phases through the window and is stuck inside with me?

Those are probably carpenter bees, not bumblebees. They look very similar. Carpenter bees are motherfuckers that drill 1/2" holes into deck posts and other wooden surfaces. Might want to get some traps.
what makes you think that? i saw a dead one on the ground and it didn't look like the images of carpenter bees i find online
I've actually been bumped by lots of wasps and bees in rather funny ways, thankfully with no sting. They are more likely to be aggressive the closer you are to their hive. Otherwise the foragers usually try to avoid confrontation unless challenged.
The most insane one was definitely when I was hanging around a sunflower field where there were hundreds of bees and hornets flying around, but to them I was just another plant with no nectar, so they would just move on.
The other funny one was when I was eating an apple and like 5 bees landed on it while I was biting down on it because apparently they liked the smell and tasted the sugary apple juice on the surface. They seemed unbothered by the fact it was moving around and me not trying to push my luck begrudgingly let them have the rest of the half eaten apple lol.
I appreciate the joke, though let me do my autistic thing and say that Honeybees have a barbed stinger, and if they sting a thick-skinned mammal like a human, the barbed hook gets stuck as they try to escape. This doesn't happen with arthropods, so they wouldn't know. Plus bees are democratic, so if you got stung, it was in consensus and the will of many.

it's just some colloquial bullshit created by the common misunderstanding of the phrase "exception that proves the rule".
that phrase actually is supposed to refer to a rule that isn't written explicitly but rather must be inferred by some statement in the negative. for example, a sign that says "no skateboarding on weekdays" means you can skateboard here on the weekends, a rule which we can understand even though we only are given the exception to it

No bee has ever stung me without cause, but I don't have killer bees living here. I do wonder if bees often get falsely accused for wasp behavior, but idk.
Bees leave you alone in my experience. And a bee killed a billionaire recently in the UK. So that's something. (Flew into his throat white they were playing POLO apparently). Gonna say that was an accident, or a Kamikabee

I agree, but I’ve been stung by a wasp that decided it was angry at me for moving my head when it decided to fly an inch from my face and hover around for a minute for an ocular pat down

Agreed, but let's be honest. If someone told you that you could sting a giant and piss him off for fun and not die, many of us would give it a try. If bees know they'll die, probably want to avoid it.

I was goofing around at the park as a kid, and climbed up to the top of a pavilion. I went to get down by grabbing the ledge under the roof and kinda flipping off the edge, but stuck my hand next to a wasp nest without noticing. I got about halfway through my flip and they stung the crap out of my hand, causing me to let go and fall flat on my back onto the concrete below. Screw wasps; Bees are cool though.
