We already live in the cars universe. That's the satire. A fictional world built exclusively for cars looks the same.

isn't there a short story about aliens coming to earth and concluding that cars are the dominant species

Took me ages to realize that "prefect" was a model. Never heard of it before I read the books

maybe that's where it's from. but I'm sure I read a longer essay about it

I hypothesize that self-driving cars are the Cars universe's equivalent of zombies.

[–] VerilyFemme@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Interesting hypothesis.

Mine differs in that I presume ALL cars in Cars to be self-driving cars. The concept of something like Waymo would be foreign to them because, well, they all can drive themselves.

Does anyone know if we ever see taxicabs in any Cars franchise film? That would shatter my previous notion for sure, because why would they need passenger vehicles?

It is unknown why the Cars world would need taxis as they are already cars and they definitely could not fit inside one. The same applies with the buses.

😂

You shouldn't ask these questions. You do not want to drive down that road, son.

Jesus Christ what a sentence...

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 7 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The cars universe has car Jesus, which implies there was the car crusades, unrest in the car middle east, and a car 9/11.

[–] Brunbrun6766@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

A cars 9/11 must have been wild, because the plane itself is a living sentiant being. Were there even hijackers involved? Or did the plane(s) just do the deed itself

Still funny.
