When the conversation does happen, the participants don't follow the preplanned answers

Why AI meme?

No hate to AI or image generation, they have their purposes, but why AI meme?

This is a 2 minute sketch, TBH I might be able to make this by hand faster than any of my locally deployed AI models.

"Sketch, Color, Snap, Crop, Add Text, Upload."

Dont say its a skill thing, I've seen literal stick figure drawings on lined paper get upvoted to frontpage here on Lemmy.

I like making fun little image while I'm doing chores. There's also some shading and the facial expression, this is above the level of most people who arent inclined.

I already have a job and hobbies, Im just trying to make my buddies laugh in the chat. I wont be paying anyone to make me memes either. In terms of ethics, I think making memes is actually the best use of AI.

Sure I could do something way uglier by hand, but it's literally more effort and I simply dont want to so there isnt much incentive. I wasnt making memes by hand before if you get what I'm saying.

Who's the artist that made this

[–] Squorlple@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago

Ai Weiwei, minus the Weiwei

Likely AI. What sticks out to me is the text thats too messy to be font and too clean to be handwriting. It does not come up in a Tineye search, which would be common if it was reposted from somewhere else, and if OP made it they could say so. Lack of credit is always suspicious

[–] LwL@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Does AI just generate a font now and use that for text? I'm asking because the letters seem to be entirely consistent which I don't think would happen if the text was image-gend.

There's also a good chance it's just the image that was AI generated and someone did manually add the text, easiest check might be to reverse search without the text.

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

No, the text was definitely edited in afterwards.

[–] Senseless@feddit.org 14 points 2 days ago

It's a great way to not get any sleep though.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, but the day that it finally happens I will have forgotten it all.

[–] MBM@lemmings.world 4 points 2 days ago

The trick is to spend uncomfortably long trying to remember what you decided you should say

I have these conversations with my dog instead of the real person. He understands and is ALWAYS on my side

[–] xamirozar@lemm.ee 1 points 2 days ago

Aww I like that 🥰

[–] thorhop@sopuli.xyz 3 points 1 day ago

The prep work is one thing. The follow through is another. The motive though? That's the key.

[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

I’ve decided to take control over my thoughts. I’m more cognizant of them now and stop before I start ruminating.

[–] BallShapedMan@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago

Alright, you busted me. Aren't you clever!

[–] Character_Locked@lemm.ee 5 points 2 days ago

This is my jam. A friend of mine described this as having an audience of people in your head that you've collected for various reasons, some positive, some toxic and poisonous. Like your best friend, or your mother, or your asshole boss that you have to deal with every day. Living in your head arguing with you and making you justify yourself, or perhaps encouraging you if it's not a toxic audience member. The audience also changes over the years and as you change, people come and go.

They do happen, couple hours to few years ago

Prepares to deliver bad news

The person accepts it without question

[–] sirico@feddit.uk 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

They'll post a meme about how I win arguments with people in my head, and I'll say no because I lose them all. That'll show them.

[–] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 2 points 2 days ago

They do happen !
