I hope the target audience enjoyed it.

When my family saw it, every kid in the theater was amped up and going nuts the whole time.

I mean that's not shocking. Its basically where pokemon was like 15 years ago.

Which funnily enough puts early versions of MC at about the halfway point between now and the release of Pokemon Blue in 96.

There are kids who grew up on Minecraft who's kids are now playing Minecraft. Its on damn-near every platform, and sells well everywhere its sold.

Truly a zombie chicken moment.

My teens went and saw it. Said it wasn't as bad as they expected. I won't take my chances.

Plot was terrible, was surprisingly perilous and violent and awkward at times, but in spite of that it was a good movie. It definitely gave nods to Minecraft gameplay and aspects, and was pretty funny at times.

I doubt I'll watch it anytime soon, I'm not the target audience by any means. I have a question though, does Jack Black actually act as a character or does he just play as Jack Black ?

[–] Walican132@lemmy.today 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I watched a review that said this is the easiest paycheck black has ever received. Just was himself. Which honestly for me is a great thing I tend to enjoy his antics.

Thanks. Oh I used to like him a lot but at some point my mind changed. Hey each to their own. And good luck to him also.

Have the "critics" played Minecraft before watching the movie? Of course not. MC: Story mode was way better than this.

Up there among the greats with Pokemon: The first movie and the classic Disney movies ;)

[–] FunnyUsername@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

would it be good if i don't like kids movies or care about Minecraft?

[–] FauxLiving@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

As long as you like people yelling and cheering in the theater, you'll love it

[–] monkeyslikebananas2@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago

Oh so I’ll absolutely abhor it
