So uh, I've been girlmodding for 2 months now (or is it 3? I forget), but I've been pretty lazy about it. Haven't bought a bra (I had a sports bra, but it was so uncomfortable to wear. Now going outside is getting uncomfortable because of chaffing), Haven't gotten proper clothes, or waxxed or any of that shit.

But, that stuff can be fixed relatively easily. The big thing I need is voice training. Unfortunately, I am like the worst person in the world for keeping my focus on things (I am 90% sure i have at least mild adhd). Plus, I have no idea how to actually voice train. So my question to you all is if there is some voice training app I can download.

I need something

  1. That works on android
  2. Tells me what to do
  3. Doesn't collect my data (I am not doing the legal route of transitioning)
  4. Is preferably just an apk file I can download and run on my phone.

Now this might seem like overly specific requirements, but I figured that it's 2025, there should be something out there.

If there isn't, I would be fine with just some tips and a guide. I will make my own bash scripts to keep me on track (idk how much of a joke this is).

*I know I could probably google this stuff but I am so godawfuly lonely I am willing to talk about anything.

Idk if this fits, but I started using an app called vocal pitch monitor for practicing (usually reading something out loud (specifically pitch which I stuggle with (so many parentheses :))).

Here's one tutorial that also uses it: https://old.reddit.com/r/transvoice/comments/d3clhe/ls_voice_training_guide_level_1_for_mtf/

I like the CV Project app because it gives me a sentence to speak, records me speaking it, replays my words for me to hear, and ultimately contributes to open data sets of speech.

Doesn't tell you how to voice train but might be good for practise once you know the tricks?

as far as I know, there isn't anything even kind of close to what you're looking for (but I'd be super happy if someone came and proved me wrong because I'd benefit from that too)

you could download any of the numerous apps that track your pitch, but pitch is a relatively small part of what you probably are looking to achieve.

unfortunately, the best resources I've found are from YouTube videos and like, random collections scattered around the web

TransVoiceLessons on YouTube has good introductions to what's most important to practice, even if her videos can be a little too jargon and theory-focused for my taste. like, I guess it's cool to know the names of the different resonant chambers in the throat, but it doesn't help me get a voice I like, y'know?

Renee Yoxon teaches a very similar technique and more concise, but I have trouble learning from someone whose voice never dropped since I learn best by imitating. might work for you though

I really like how SeattleVoiceLab sounds, but I've never been able to take anything useful from her videos. I like trying to imitate her though

https://transvoice.party/ has good guides, specifically the "collection of Selene Da Silvas clips" link under Documentation

I've hit a pretty bad plateau myself, so I'm considering just living with how I sound at the moment until I can afford paying for some in person lessons. technique and practice helps but feedback and feeling comfortable using your trained voice in front of other people is the biggest hurdle I've encountered by far

There's a SeattleVoiceLab discord that might still offer weekly free group lessons. I think there's also somewhat active voice channels that people practice in.

there's also the TransVoice discord and Scingustics which should be listed in the .party links, with their own resources, communities, and practice spaces

I always feel too nervous to get on a voice call though, mostly because I expect everyone to be way younger than me

Not sure how young you mean, but there are definitely older women that join, even if it's mostly younger.

VoiceTools doesn't give you much guidance but i put it on a tablet and just practice keeping my pitch up 🤷🏼‍♀️

1 - human interaction , works on every device including iOS, android or even an old line or a pair of chair and joint. 2 - call me, we can talk, I am lonely too 3 - any app you know, pigeon for the win

, there is my voice, monotonous, unable to feel anything.
