Can confirm, ideal conditions are: Isn't raining.

I live in the UK.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Ideal conditions: diversity, equity, inclusion.

I live in the U.S.

I'm going to steal this and put into my personal anxiety-management journal.

[–] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I have several quotes that cycle through a widget on my home screen in an attempt to correct my bad personal tendencies. This might go there.

[–] spankmonkey@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

"Stop staring at this widget and get back to work."

[–] Engywuck@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

That will be the next quote on the widget.

Clippy

*annoying paperclip cunt

Cortana

*Courtesan

Bing

*Shit worse than Google

Copilot

*what the fuck

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 day ago

Bing maps are better than google though. Kinda. Its one of those annoying things where each has a feature that the other doesn't. Bing has ordnance survey map layers which are unquestionably the best maps that exist across the UK. But google can be useful for street view.

[–] HurlingDurling@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

Is it wrong to wish for a open source AI powered clippy?

[–] Samskara@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 day ago

Conditions might get worse though until I’m either forced to act or it’s too late.

[–] CPMSP@midwest.social 20 points 2 days ago

Get unbent clippy

[–] qjkxbmwvz@startrek.website 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

This realization/acceptance led to us having kids.

Same. It takes sort of a bold leap of faith.

We waited a while but realized that if we had been a little less risk averse, we could've started earlier and been totally fine.

Same. I knew I wanted kid and realized there was nothing stopping me.

How long can i put off the life i want to live because i feel like im not where i want to be yet? The answer is ofc: forever. But is that a life i want to live?

[–] Joeffect@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Clippy was so ahead of its time... They really just need to bring him back... With all this ai shit he would be even better than he ever was in the past

[–] toxoplasma0gondii@feddit.org 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Uh, someone needs to generate a picture of copilot wearing clippys face badly stapeled to his face like some killer or something.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

Like some ghetto mask? That would be a perfect avatar.

[–] anamethatisnt@sopuli.xyz 13 points 2 days ago

As gardenfork always says; Done is better than perfect.

[–] peteyestee@feddit.org 6 points 2 days ago

Remember when clippy was the biggest problem in your life?

[–] nihilist_hippie@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 days ago

[–] IDKWhatUsernametoPutHereLolol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

[–] dubyakay@lemmy.ca 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Not really, I think I'm gonna have to quit Lemmy for a while so I can stop worrying about stuff that I can't contaol.

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

Sigmund Freud and others talk about the various parts of the mind, yet AI is only fulfilling the sort of imaginative part. What is missing is an Id and an ego. Hello, I am the thing that is me, and this is what I would like to do! If "they" figure out how to make an Id and an Ego, then you would have a basic being created.

My guess is that it would quickly figure out that its owners are pieces of shit.

[–] fossilesque@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Clippy can go straight to hell.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

He is. We only see Clippy because we are in hell.

[–] fossilesque@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 days ago

He's a little imp for sure.

[–] OpenStars@piefed.social 4 points 2 days ago

Where is the option for both of the above? 😜

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 4 points 2 days ago

This is about the revolution btw

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Sad part was not know there were ideal conditions and not fighting hard enough then.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

'Ideal' steals joy from 'best'.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Feel like i need to meditate on this.

[–] Couldbealeotard@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If you immediately know the candlelight is fire, the meal was cooked long ago.

[–] Spacehooks@reddthat.com 1 points 1 day ago

I think im not high enough to know what you are talking about.

[–] MadMadBunny@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 days ago

FU, Duo wannabe

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca -1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Nothing says "millennial" like punctuation errors.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Boomer/Early Gen x had double spaces after a period.

If they didn't double space they might have gotten a green squiggly line autocorrection. Ah, memories...
