I've never seen a bad Tim Curry movie. I especially liked his version of It, it wasn't very scary compared to the new one but it was definitely a clown and it looked less like a dweeb, imo.

I even enjoyed him as the second best terrorist in the world (McHale's Navy).

Finally! Someone else who enjoys that movie.

[–] gdog05@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago

It's really underrated. It's not a good movie. Not in the slightest. But it's schlocky and fun and totally worth watching. Also glad to find another person who enjoyed it.

I read somewhere:

"If a movie with Tim Curry is rated one star out of five; he's the reason the movie got that star"

See The Three Musketeers for proof.

It's dreadful. Two of the musketeers are clearly doing so many lines between takes to cope with it that they might as well be in Scarface. The third one is drunk. And then there's Tim, treating the whole thing like a glorious pantomime.

I feel like that movie, Street Fighter and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves are an unofficial trilogy of terrible movies saved by panto villains.

Oh dude the 3 musketeers was an awesome movie.

If you embarrass this department, your pants will be dancing with figs! Is that clear?!

[–] thebosz@lemmy.today 4 points 4 months ago

Yeah, except for the "dancing with figs" part.

Still one of the funniest movies ever!

"Hey you! Not so fast! ...that's better.”

He is so close to breaking in that clip. You can see him suppressing a laugh before "SPAAACE".

There was no scenery left after Tim had chewed it all up in RA.
