MODERATORS

At least now it's easy to see who's a fash and they can't hide behind the "concerned moderate" facade anymore.

Case and point:

Also anyone compiling a list of all the shitfashes reacting to the seig heil? Would be useful for easily dismissing anything they say in the future.

Musk has outright agreed with tweets claiming, openly and without any dogwhistles, that Jews want to exterminate the white race. He's been mask off for a while if people wanted to see it, and collaborators still make up excuses for him siegheiling in public. They will continue doing so when he shows up in public with a swastika armband or hangs a portrait of Hitler in his office.

The salute can, ofc, still alarm people who didn't pay close attention before, but i wouldn't overrate the propagandistic usefulness. It's been decided for a while who's on which side of history in this.

nazis keep taking the mask off and liberals will bend down to pick it up like "oopsie! you dropped this!" and the nazi will just take it off again, like a cat trying to remove a funny hat. i do think each time it indicates some kind of shift in the political landscape, but for a majority of liberals, a central tenet of their politics is that Everything is Fine.

I guess my view is that because this was such a flagrant and public display of nazism - it's impossible for anyone to deny it with "oh I hadn't seen his anti-semetic and racist tweets so I didn't know" - there's no room for doubt now and anyone that attempts to excuse it is obviously a bad faith actor and can be dismissed outright.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 22 points 1 week ago

If it was impossible to deny it they wouldn't call it an "odd looking" or "controversial" hand gesture. 🤡

[–] coolusername@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 week ago (4 children)

but he also cowers to zionist interests. very confusing

[–] huf@hexbear.net 11 points 1 week ago

not really, we're doing a more inclusive nazism this time around, jews and slavs are invited as long as they're rabid nazis.

[–] CTHlurker@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

Most modern Nazis are big fans of Israel and zionism,, on account of it being an ideology that removes jews from Europe. it's why Orban and Netanyahu can remain good friends, as neither of them want there to be any jews in Europe / America.

[–] TheGenderWitch@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

nazis were pretty inclusive to zionists originally

It’s what they do, it’s their M.O. Everyone is invited to the big fascist club, you just get sorted into different “rooms” once you get there.

[–] NewOldGuard@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

Nazis tend to support Zionism since it’s an example of the type of fascist ethnostate they wish to establish, and also accomplishes their antisemitic goals of removing Jewish people from their population by creating a designated place for them. They are aware of the contradictions but that’s never stopped them before

Hey look the Pope is doing a totally different hand gesture with a different arm and there's no video.

berdly-smug

[–] glimmer_twin@hexbear.net 44 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeh look, when I first saw the photo of Elon doing it I was like “yeh I’ve seen stuff like this before, it’s usually them waving to the crowd and freeze framed at an awkward moment” but a few minutes later I saw the video and it’s like completely blatant and (so I thought) undeniable. He does it twice ffs!

[–] Sulvor@hexbear.net 34 points 1 week ago

Even grunts as he pounds his chest the first time. He was into that shit.

[–] CliffordBigRedDog@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

Well the last pope definitely did one tho

Been saying self described 'centrists' are crypto fascists or at best crypto fascist collaborators / apologists for years now, whether or not they themselves realize it.

When push comes to shove, they have no spine and will tacitly or explicity side with the boisterous bully.

Literally childrens playtime reccess social dynamics, its not that complicated.

All they care about is not making any one angry, they have no beliefs, they cannot be trusted, they will always abandon morality for percieved popular social acceptance if the other option means standing up for the weird kid that was a victim of the bully.

The absolute most cowardly kind of person, the people pleaser who 'has no enemies'.

Its not even pragmatism in the long run.

Its setting yourself up for constant drama, and eventually being seen as either a pushover useful idiot or an untrustworthy backstabber by everyone you know, given enough time.

"Social democracy is objectively the moderate wing of fascism."

[–] NewOldGuard@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

He never misses

TERFs got away with praising the Taliban when they took over and they’re going to get away with praising Musk’s Hitler salute as well. Or did the one who publicly cited Mein Kampf get any public backlash? And what about Rowling’s Holocaust denial or certain TERFs just straight-up calling for trans people to be exterminated.

Let’s be honest. Most cis people, at least when it comes to trans people’s human rights, are more or less cryptofascist

yeah like "america is a nazi country" okay, did anything new happen? "american nazis are being led by the most cringe man on the planet" nice.

Her problem with the hitler guy's idea of an illustrated mein kempf was that he was a bad illustrator?

[–] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 34 points 1 week ago (2 children)

She's doing a sarcasm. It's not funny but i believe it's meant to be a joke

[–] ClathrateG@hexbear.net 36 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

The most nuance she's ever put into a bit of writing

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Sounds like a joke about Hitler failing out of art school. Which I guess isn't entirely unfunny.

[–] gil2455526@lemmy.eco.br 2 points 1 week ago

I was like, "there is no way she is that bad, at least she would have deleted the tweet by now", but here it still is!

[–] BodyBySisyphus@hexbear.net 23 points 1 week ago

Don't worry, she's in Improv 102 now and will learn that you don't have to "yes and" everything.

[–] coolusername@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think it's interesting that there are liberals that are against this but still support US imperialism. How's that work

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 week ago

Because they're not actually against it

[–] Redcuban1959@hexbear.net 2 points 1 week ago

I may be mistaken, but didn't Elon say that JK should post something other than complaining about trans people all day, maybe start posting positive things? In the same tweet, he said that he himself was transphobic. It's a bit weird that she's defending him now, but I guess she's just defending a fellow fascist.
