The issue is that there aren't good competitors to the meta quest platform that does what i need. They poored tons of cash in developing it and it shows compared to other brands. The closest i could be interested in would be by HTC or Pymax but the new valve deckard and samsung's project moohan will come out this year anyways so i'm not gonna switch just yet. I've been looking forward to ditching meta for years without real options for me unfortunately.
The trick is to not consider meta products to be a viable option. What you are left with is the actual playing field.
Someday we will have the technology to play a AAAA game like Skull and Bones
What about AAAAA games? Is there a limit?
Only when you run out of breath.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA inhale
❌ Geforce Now ❌ AAA gaming ❌ Meta Quest 3
So close…
The real news is that AAA vr games are dogshit.
Half Life Alyx?
Even if I enjoyed a lot of that game, I feel sad that it often felt small-scope; tight hallways, no "canal/highway" type sequences, and only three guns. You don't even use the gravity gloves in the innovative ways you use the gravity gun.
Valve gets a free pass, of course.
Isn't the Arkham game supposed to be good?
Haven't looked at it, but from what I've seen, big studio titles seem to be either a shitty port or a "Hey look you can interact with things!!" style vr tutorial instead of a game.
I heard Arkham was the real deal, but I didn't get a Quest 3 for Christmas
This is a VR app for streaming 2D games on a virtual screen, AFAIK. Not for actual VR games.
