Not a good long term strategy, trust me on that one.

[–] Bali@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

True. Sometimes i drink too much just to cope

[–] UxyIVrljPeRl@lemmy.world 14 points 4 days ago (1 children)

But can you drink and breath?

[–] lugal@sopuli.xyz 12 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Fun fact: amphibians can't breath while eating or drinking because they lack the "wall" between mouth and nose. They can touch the nose with their tongue from the inside. I'm not sure about reptiles

I knew a girl like that once

Wait what

[–] Zaphod@discuss.tchncs.de 11 points 4 days ago (3 children)

Nah, better to take psychedelics and improve yourself

[–] django@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Improve like: quit you stressing job.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 11 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Or be fired for asking why the walls are breathing.

[–] tetris11@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

or get promoted for having that wild / surrealist energy that the CEO has been looking for all along for some reason

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

These are both within the realm of possibility.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

I don't have to improve a damn thing if I don't wanna.

Do it the California way. Way better for your health.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 7 points 4 days ago

I've been California sober for a year and I feel much better, I do miss drinking sometimes tho.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago (3 children)

What is the Californian Way?

Thanks. I wish I liked it.

I disliked the effects of weed back when it was illegal (Canada); just made me paranoid. Our legalization of recreational marijuana helped me understand that weed is more than THC. (Anything I'd have smoked back in the 90s was probably crazy amounts of sole THC.)

Legalization has allowed me to experiment with CBD levels. Now I get a 1:2 ratio of THC:CBD and it's a completely different thing. I'm relaxed, smiley, glued to the couch and off of Benzos. (I like Mango Haze.)

I know it's not for everyone, and I'm not a pusher, but I thought I'd mention that CBD is a game changer. (There is CBG now too.)

Thanks for the recommendations. I tried that a few years ago and still didn't like it. There are only two situations where I can enjoy it. The first is if I'm already hammered drunk, but I don't drink anymore. The second is if I'm in the high country backpacking. I do that quite a bit, but I have such a great time up there anyways, I don't see the need to do any drugs. If I'm with someone who is passing it around, I might take a hit. Otherwise I just leave it alone. It's not for me, unfortunately.

Wangs. Wangs everywhere

Roving gangs of suburban kids on bikes

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Yes, but… speaking from experience, it is definitely possible to overdo it on that angle. The psychological impacts of heavy long term use are… shall we say, unsubtle, but at the same time, REALLY hard to admit and see for yourself if you’re in the throes of it.

Moderation and T-breaks are frankly pretty crucial.

[–] tlou3please@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Oh definitely! I agree. I vape on a more or less daily basis, which is based on medical advice and a prescription, and even then I think it's important to take some time out every now and then.

gotta stay hydrated

[–] FartsWithAnAccent@fedia.io 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

You can, until it kills you.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 5 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago) (1 children)

That just means I no longer have to worry about the fact that I probably wont ever see a dime of the social security I’ve paid into for my entire career

Cheers, comrade.

Once you're dead you've got no problems to cope with. Win win!
