Showerthoughts
A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

You have an app? You're saying I've been following them around for no reason?
There was en email blast a few months back with a link to the discord. The link to the GitHub is on there.
I told you guys not to do it every time. It's gotta seem random.
He is just so awkward. It is like the antithesis of a bald eagle soaring majestically.
I may be one of these people. At least for the more obscure places, the highway pullouts and national forests and things, if I see another person parked there, I’ll typically park next to them. Safety in numbers, the more people parked in a turnout, the more legitimate it looks to park there
They mean put some space between you.
Post doesn't complain about them parking super close so as to make opening the door difficult.
I agree with the other commenter. Parking next to someone makes it look more legitimate. Or perhaps that person knows better where it is legal to park.
Parking should follow urinal rules. Never use the stall right next to someone else unless it is the only remaining option. And especially if there is only one person at the urinals so far...
True for clearly marked spaces and urinals.
Turn off location sharing on Google maps. You have your location shared with everyone and Google marks your location as good parking.
You missed the joke.
Actually, they continued the joke.
On a re-read, you're correct. I accept my loss.
There's research on this, it's a confirmed human behavior. People park and sit etc near others. So good luck changing human nature.
Shh...nobody tell him.
Some people just like to watch the world burn. Had a friend that would park next to people out in BFE. I asked them “why” and he said “no real reason, I just like pissing them off”… not really friends with him anymore.
I have a friend like this too. Except he intentionally slows down when a car comes up tona side street on the passenger side and says "hit us! Gimme that cheque!"
I told him the last time he did that shit "if we EVER het into an accident i am using any money ibreceive to fucking sue your dumbass for putting us in danger."
Doesn't do that anymore, but does enough other toxic shit for me to cut him out after this lease is up.
cut him out after this lease is up.
Are you roommates or is this some new rent-a-friend gig economy dystopia I don't know about?
We're supposed to be best friends, and we decided to move in together BUUUUUUUT he's done literally everything he can to prove he's selfish.
And when he's called out on it he will Deny he did anything, Deflect and say I'm the one that's overreacting and then if i stand my ground he whispers an apology at a volume where i cannot hear him even though he's within arm's reach.
No lie.
We had a talk where i told him rooming with people is difficult because in every situation I've been in the roommates have always been antagonistic and selfish. Told him all the things past roommates have done that crippled the living situation and he he has done all of it. But it's supposed to be okay as long as he claims "it was a joke" or "we're bffs I'd never do anything to hurt you."
Edit: i know you're making a joke but some of us can't survive without a roommate to split bills with because not every job pays enough, and they basically laugh when we ask for a raise. I worked at a retail store 2 years ago that gasped when i told them 4-8hrs of work a week isn't enough for anything.
Sorry, I didn't mean to joke about your situation.
I've had my share of sketchy roomies.
That person sounds like a terrible match.
It's fine. I'll be forced to figure something out or become homeless. Yay being a millennial!
It’s in your car. Just bike there.
What's dogging without an audience?
Similar to movie theater seats. No one else in the theater, the next person walks in and sits right behind me except no GPS.
I park way out, and sometimes park next to a nice looking car thinking "neither of us would door ding the other."
I have a different theory to "safety in numbers", "GPS locator" etc
Namely that we live in a simulation and this is how the simulation is trying to preserve computing power. If two people park separately in the wilderness somewhere then twice as much area has to be computed. However if the simulation guides the second and other subsequent vehicles to the same place then there's only one area that is actively observed and have random encounters with wildlife generated.
we live in a simulation
I agree 100%. I have suspected the same thing.
Today I am in a large parking lot that is only 5% occupied. This family pulls in and parks away from me but doesn't shut off their car. Then a minute later they back out of that space and attempt to back in to the spot right next to me. The wife got out of the car to guide the husband into the spot. The entire parking lot is wide open!!! WTF? They didn't even have the courtesy of parking one over from me. Definitely, it's the Simulation fucking with me.
Seems to apply to urinals too. There's a whole open row, don't pick the one next to me.
I'm going to the first open one 99% of the time. If you don't want people next to you, make sure you go all the way to the end.

Very old onion, aged somewhat badly.
It's as hilarious as the first time I read it. I think it's aged quite well. Its almost timeless.
OP realllllly wants to be the main character.
Sounds like they are the main character, but would rather not be
What maps app are you using that doesn't do this natively?
Did you get half way through and assume what the rest of the post must say and skip reading it? It seems like you answered a completely different question than the actual joke that was posted.
Best part is they're doubling down on their inability to read the entire title.
I guess I should have posted a shorter reply, they probably saw two full sentences and gave up before even starting.
What maps app are you using that shows you exactly where people parked their car?
Drop a pin, share pin location.
Open street maps.
Google maps.
Apple maps.
Literally any mapping app.
"Yo bro, I left the drugs in the trunk of a blue Toyota Camry. It's unlocked. I parked right here"
Not hard.
Do you even understand what this post is about?
