Holy hell how old is that YouTube layout?

[–] Gigan@lemmy.world 26 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The video was posted 14 years ago, so it could be 14 years old or newer.

It could be older than 14 years as well. When the video was uploaded the layout might have been already a few years old.

It has likes/dislikes instead of star ratings, so it is pretty recent.

brother that was over a decade ago. that change happened almost a quarter of the internet's lifespan ago.

they did that in 2009. YouTube only existed in that state for 2 years. so like 90% of YouTube's existence has not included the star rating.

Octopuses are smart. Also, don't ask me why, but the plural is octopuses and not octopi.

[–] TexasDrunk@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

It's not octopi because it's not Latin. It can be octopodes because it comes from Greek. It can also be octopuses because it's English.

Isn't it 'octopodes', and 'octopuses' is considered a valid alternative due to heavy use, or am I stupid?
