I cane across this beauty on my way to work today. God, trees are beautiful

That’s a lovely tree dude. Trees are fucking great. Highly underrated.

I took this one while walking my dog this morning

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

That's absolutely beautiful!

That trunk looks thiccccccc. Got any upskirt pics?

(If this joke is in bad taste and poorly received, I blame day drinking 🍻)

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

There is actually a small shed-like structure right under there, hence the appearance of ungodly thiccness.

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity in a timely manner. Though I was kinda hoping for an "OP delivers" moment 😂

We laugh, but a shot of those gorgeous leaves with all sky behind/above them would also be pretty great.

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It would! Too bad I took this pic last week, and today it's already cold and snowing. Most of the leaves are gone :(

Part of what makes fall color so breathtaking is its evanescence. There's something beautiful about the last few bright leaves on dark branches against the snow, too.

Here in Los Angeles there's very few types of trees that turn bright colors; mostly just liquidambar and crape myrtle. And with our hot Santa Ana Winds still coming, and no frost, they often finally turn just in time for Christmas, lol.

My take on your photo. Following someone's advice in the motel pic thread.

Thank you, that's gorgeous!

Almost looks like an explosion

[–] casmael@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Ooo it’s a good one 🫨

[–] thanks_shakey_snake@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

Is good tree.

[–] Gregorech@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Trees like that are the best, when they are in someone else's yard.

[–] NPC@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

Honestly, trees could only be nicer if the made the literal oxygen we breathe. Oh, wait...

[–] ickplant@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I have a very similar tree in my yard (not as pretty, but same size-wise), so I know what you mean. Leaves for DAYS.

[–] spez_@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I chopped down all the trees in my yard after I bought my house. I've put concrete in the backyard
