Photo explanation: Sadanoumi had just pushed Ryuuden off the dohyo, but he was about to fall off the dohyo, but Ryuuden lent a stabilizing body and supporting hands to keep him from falling. Awww....
Matches of the Day: Hiradoumi vs Yoshinofuji, Aonishiki vs Takayasu, Tamawashi vs Hoshoryu
Good show by Asanoyama, Kirishima
Good sportsmanship by Ryuuden, Roga
Tamawashi should have committed to his pushing attacks.
Hiradoumi vs Yoshinofuji indeed. Something happened to Hiradoumi but he doesn't know what.
Yes I noticed that too. Good catch!
yah examples of "safety sumo" are really inspiring!
I thought: how could you forget Onosato vs Ura? It was such an awesome match! But yeah the three you mentioned were even awesomer! Fujinokawa vs Tobizaru was pretty good too. Even the bro Shishi managed to eke out a win (he's at 2-5 tho lol) So yeah Day 7 has some great matches.
I agree with those 3 other matches you mentioned, but I want to spread the love around...
So the person that lost made sure the other person didn't get disqualified? If so major kudos to them, I love sports that have people supporting each other.
No, the match had already been decided well before the photo, but I'm giving kudos to Ryuuden for consideration for the safety of the opponent who had just defeated him.
Falling off the raised dohyo, which is only used for competition, is a major source of injuries.
