Maybe someday there will be a true cure for cancer but it'll probably be some wild shit like retroviruses programmed to attack specifically your own cancer cells to turn on the apoptosis switch again. Modern therapies have come a really long way but it's still like using a sledgehammer to do brain surgery.

there are crispr based therapies out right now that are tailored to the patients DNA like you say but it's for specific cancers and really expensive.
