We need to return to the simpler times when mercenaries killed their lord if they weren't paid.
I haven't heard of this until now. Is this a general occurence among feudal societies?
Shit it happens today even, look at the recent failed revolt done by the wagner pmc in russia.
it's like half of The Prince
The praetorian guard did it often in late roman history, too. They'd off the emperor when someone else (often one of their generals) would offer them a better deal.
