Something like filing a tax return is a huge barrier for low-income people who very likely do not have the necessary access to or experience with computers to do it, and consequently miss out on precisely the benefits that they need. But ... like most Liberal social measures, it would be great if it wasn't just a small, token gesture. Like their proto- pharmacare and dental care programs, which were like pulling teeth for the NDP, and were only very grudgingly conceded to keep the Trudeau government alive. Personally, I am tired of downloading my tax slips that the government already has, and having to pay someone to do it.
