Absolutely. This is a great example of why we need a thriving public broadcaster. The lesson from the United States right now is very clear: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/jun/06/trump-funding-cuts-npr-pbs-rural-america

It's not "a lot of Albertans". It's conservative political messaging, pushing the idea that Alberta pays into equalization transfers. Alberta doesn't pay a dime into equalization.

The Alberta oil economy is thriving There's no such thing as an Alberta oil economy. Most of the shareholders in the Alberta oil companies are foreign. https://policyoptions.irpp.org/magazines/august-2023/foreign-oil-companies/

We need to be investing in electric mass transit. Powered by renewables.

There's a lot of words missing in in the first statement. Shareholders in American auto manufacturers other than Tesla want to get rid of the electric vehicle mandate. Also note that elsewhere in the world internal combustion cars are losing ground to electric vehicles. Do we really want to attach ourselves to this sinking ship?

CMHC is not run by the Prime Minister or the cabinet. It is a Crown Corporation governed by a Board of Directors. Mr. Carney has not "redefined affordable housing". https://www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca/about-us/management-and-governance/board-of-directors-and-its-committees

It was the climate scientists that agreed +1.5 degrees was the threshold we shouldn't cross, and yes, it's too late.

That shouldn't prevent people from voting, though. Nobody needs to know how you vote. In the last presidential election, more eligible voters did not vote than they did for either Trump or Harris. You can hold your tongue at Thanksgiving, but express yourself without fear when it actually counts.

The idea was to give the Americans time to negotiate something before the tax came into effect. If they didn't do it in 3 years, I don't know why Carney thinks giving in will lead to any benefit for Canada.
