People of any political leaning should be anti-fascist, to be honest. I think the point is that he was brought up with 'republican values' and taught how to use guns as a child.

Yup. Fascism is such an extreme-right ideology that you're no longer leaning anywhere, you're blindly stumbling off the hateful edge of sanity and coherence.
