Update 2: There is footage which shows Charlie Kirk taking what seems to be a fatal gunshot to the neck. I will not post it here.

Update 3: Hasan Piker watched the clip on stream and confirmed that Kirk took the fatal shot. Piker was visibly shaken as he was supposed to debate Kirk at Dartmouth University in 15 days.

Trump is already doing whatever he wants with no one stopping him. He is immune to all prosecution. He more or less controls all three branches of the federal government. What more does this give him?

The idea that Hitler wouldn’t have mounted sufficient electoral support in the 1933 elections if it wasn’t for the reichstag fire is the real ahistorical nonsense there was no turning back at that point and if consent wasn’t sufficiently manufactured to carry out the holocaust without it they would have engineered it anyway since they were about to control the levers of power anyway

BE is smarter than this but his need to drama farm is more important than having a good take

A communist was actually involved in the fire, though BE is misrepresenting it in that it's widely believed that Nazis were involved in making the fire worse than one dude with a lighter could manage and therefore probably put him up to it in the first place.

I am delighted he is dead, full stop.

But if I’m looking at this in terms of pure strategy, I’m not sure this is good. You had a guy who was annoying but at the end of the day he’s just a (large) talking head. A pro yapper. He is now a martyr and unlike the UnitedHealth CEO, I’m not seeing a lot of general sentiment among normies that people are celebrating. Dunno hope I’m off base here.

I don't think you get to look at this with the lens of strategy. These things are going to happen. The fascists will react. And other things are going to happen. None of that is within your control. Strategize around the American population becoming more violent and radical the further material conditions deteriorate.

You had a guy who was annoying but at the end of the day he’s just a (large) talking head.

I don’t entirely agree. Charlie Kirk directly contributed to, and could easily be considered responsible for, an incredible amount of violence directed at marginalized groups and peoples. It’s just not as immediately obvious because he isn’t a health insurance CEO.

We joke a lot about people getting the wall here and well, here’s somebody who actually got it. The major difference between carrying out a court-imposed death sentence and just merking a nazi is that you don’t have to dress up to do the latter.

In terms of strategy, something like this was going to happen sooner or later. If it wasn’t Charlie Kirk it would’ve been Ben Shapiro or someone else. The fascists are going to do what they’re going to do regardless if someone gives them an excuse, and if they really want one then the most murderous empire in world history most definitely has the capacity to manufacture it.

As it stands, I don’t think we get to skip the era of adventurism and go straight to, like, a strategic protracted peoples’ war, whether that’s a good thing or not. I feel like there’s going to be decades of this before anything resembling that even becomes a remote possibility.

Is the PragerU public school curriculum still being pushed through in southern states? I agree, the man wasn't fringe or uninfluential. He was on the cusp of indoctrinating possibly hundreds of thousands of young children into hating trans people, believing that slavery and public executions are good things. This may still be a possibility regardless. Fuck him

He didn't run PragerU, he ran TPUSA, though he did appear on PragerU many times and you can be sure as shit that they will now feature him even more frequently in their state-enforced indoctrination as a "respectful political advocate who was murdered for his patriotic beliefs by the radical left." What harm has been prevented? Slightly lower-quality "prove me wrong" videos? PragerU only has an extra rhetorical tool, which is that one of their presenters can now be a "martyr," and Kirk was such a worthless worm, especially in the context of pre-recorded presentations, that it's not like their new presentations are going to be that much worse, it just means their older videos with him in them will carry more weight to the uneducated viewer.

First, I wouldn't support executing Kirk in a post-revolutionary scenario because it's just not productive. Let him rot in jail, the sadists can be happy because he'll suffer more anyway.

That having been said, there are scenarios during a revolution where it could be necessary to summarily execute someone like him (though I don't think it's that likely compared to a military leader or something), but that's not remotely the same as the adventurism we have currently encountered. In a revolution, a summary execution is one small element of a broader, calculated campaign to concretely seize power. In our present scenario, it's just more chaotic violence where Kirk is martyred and then replaced without any real gains for the left.
