thats challah, an enriched bread loaf that is pretty fucking tasty. Its usually the only bread that is knotted and prepared like this.

I love knotting bread like this, I make rolls and pretzels that look exactly like this (except WAY shittier looking)

Before baking, coat in diluted food grade lye! Just like with bagels.
