Gonna be great when the pendulum swings and we start the Nuremberg trials up again
Unfortunately 75-85 million people had died by then. Today that number would be doubled or tripled at least
Yes, WW2 was the deadliest military conflict in history. The price of facism https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_II_casualties
I misread your comment
I though you were saying 75 million people died in Gaza
Nuremberg was a failure anyway. They gave the Nazis the easiest fucking trials ever.
I’m afraid that the outcome will be the same here. That the ICE goons will live quiet lives after this. There will be no reckoning - that the desire to move on and forget all of this will override the desire to punish. That we will rn more “fair” to them than they are to the immigrants they round up.
There's folks on Lemmy that feel Nuremburg was a mistake and inhumane and that Streicher's execution was wrong.
So I expect ICE agents will have plenty of supporters when/if it comes down to it.
Personally, I think that ICE should be tried and executed as a class. Allowing the confederates, nazis, and business plotters to live out peaceful lives were the greatest mistakes made by democracies.
