i can't wait this ai to perform surgery on me
i made a whoopsie! turns out the patient's heart had to remain inside their body and connected to blood vessels! sorry for the mistake! (blood spurts over the screen) i'm so so so so so sorry for this misunderstanding! it's entirely (blood keeps spurting) my fault! oops, looks like i still didn't correct my mistake! i'm such a screw-up! please accept (screen covered in blood) my sincerest apology! i'm so sorry! i'm no good! i tried my best but it wasn't good enough! my anatomy skills are no good, you are so much smarter than me! i'm so so so sorry!
there are machine learning not gen "ai" tools that are good for various tasks and the ambiguity is one of the reasons i wish i could murder the marketing fuckers responsible
Do you think surgeons don't feel like this?
IME, no. The people who go into surgery tend toward a little bit of a god complex, which makes sense. you can't be second guessing your every move while cutting into people. Now if they do fuck up they may guilt spiral, I don't know. But the people who react to saying a stupid thing by hiding in the closet tend to go into other specialties.
Although my experience is extremely limited.
Typically into management, where the weight of all the buried problems inevitably crushes the back of whatever NHS trust they've been assigned to.
Inquests happen, blame is placed, and a new hopeless sod takes their place, thus repeating the cycle.
All the surgeons I've had give off serial killer vibes tbh. Guess if you strategically stab 10,000 people you learn to suppress certain feelings.
tbh just looking at all the cadavers during anatomy desensitises you a lot, and it happens fast. Like "Within days you are comfortable being elbow deep in a cadaver" fast
i'm pretty sure that they do. it's not about the ai per se but the marketing of it
