2028 frontrunner Pete Buttigieg's answer to a question on how Democrats should handle Israel has been described as "a beautiful example of sounding like you care about genocide while actually saying nothing at all."

Oh gosh, the 2028 frontrunner. The race hasn't started, we don't know who's running, and their already trying to name a winner. Fucking Democratic media complex.

Your choices are Buttigieg, Newsom, Shapiro, and maybe Kamala if she's done with her "me" time. Choose wisely.

Exactly! People are delirious if they really believe for even one second that Darth Trump, the world's most successful Super-Criminal, who is basically the Antichrist, is ever going to allow real elections again... The old USA is over. This is Nazi-land now. No one is going to fix this.

watch them somehow lose again

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 2 points 3 months ago

It's what they're good at.

[–] njm1314@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Not that I'm a fan of the other three really but she would get cooked in that primary. I mean she'd be lucky to finish 4th.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 3 months ago

Not voting for either of those options. Regardless

Don’t like it? Earn voters with policy.

What happened to AOC “running”?

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 0 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I love AOC, but I don't think she has the sauce for a presidential run, at least not yet. Anyways, if we are ever going to start putting this era to bed, we need a bloodthirsty take-no-prisoners lefty liberal. That's not who she is.

Pritzker might fit the bill. Not that I personally like him better, but I think he might have the right instincts for this moment, even if I prefer AOC's vision better.

[–] Plurrbear@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

You legit are telling me you don’t think she pushes the bounds on both sides and fights for the rights of us (former middle class - it doesn’t exist anymore) now?! She’s one of the only politicians doing that with Bernie (of course), fighting against a dictator, influencers, and other corrupt politicians… she understands more than anyone else as she legit came up from the bottom! She’s what we NEED and what is necessary to change this garbage “government”.

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 0 points 3 months ago

You legit are telling me...

Um, no? None of that is what I said. I sincerely hope to see her as president some day, I just don't think she is equipped to move us into post-MAGA America. If anything, she is too good of a person for this moment. I want a straight up leftist psychopath that will do what should have been done after the civil war and punish the fuck out of the traitors so we aren't dealing with the aftermath of this bullshit for a hundred+ years.

The media won't settle on their candidates until after the 2026 mid-terms.

But as of right now... Yeah, not the front runner:

Actually, per your link, in polls where Kamala Harris wasn't an option, Buttigieg is the frontrunner with Newsom close behind. When Harris is included he is number 2.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Harris hasn't said she's not running, other than not running for governor. I think it's safe to say she'll try and fail a 3rd time.

[–] violetsoftness@piefed.blahaj.zone 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

that's what 'not the front runner' means, harris is the front runner. the runner at the front.

[–] ALoafOfBread@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 months ago

But Buttigieg is the runner at the front in polls where they don't ask about Kamala. I'm just saying we shouldn't rule him out as a serious contender for the Primary, because he does lead some of the polling.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

As someone who is left of center, I will actively campaign against buttiegieg if he is the nominee. He’s worse than a bowl of shit

[–] ALoafOfBread@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I think he has a lot of potential to win the primary because he is a classic NPR lib type. Even has the cadence. He is a very good speaker - a shame he has horribly lib politics.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 1 points 3 months ago

Neolib, thankfully Israeli government has made this a litmus test.

[–] Tinidril@midwest.social 3 points 3 months ago

What they are doing now is test balloons. They just start hyping particular establishment candidates to see which ones and what framing works best.

Bernie has declined to rule out a run, and he is by far the most popular. Yet I don't think they even include him in the surveys. (Not that I'm saying he will/should run. Despite still being as sharp as ever, he is getting pretty old.)
