Whenever I see tariffs on things like this, it strikes me as much more pragmatic and serious than tariffs on things like EVs and microchips, because while the latter is very high end and politicized, things like the former -oils, raw materials, grains- seem like they would have bigger impacts. Idk im not an expert, but it seems like a more no-nonsense, less theatrical way to do tariffs. The mismatch in levels of seriousness makes me think of this:
