I boiled the pasta, and instead of draining the water, I accidentally added the tomato sauce into the water with the pasta. My pasta is now soup.
The only saving grace is that I usually undercook my pasta and eat it crunchy. So I can still reduce the "soup" a bit before it becomes overcooked.
I just tasted the pasta. I added salt to it which was a mistake because the sauce I bought also has salt in it. I now am beginning to understand how that "if I cook even the simplest of food I will somehow fuck it up and poison everybody" gag in anime works.
Is there a reason you had to keep the pasta in the soup instead of removing it and reserving it to fix the sauce?
No, other than the fact that I ate it all.
Thats good. I was more worried that you couldn't salvage it for some reason. The way this was prepared might make an italian sad,
but its not the worst thing in the world. Your defintely not a failure here.

As long as you're as cheap/flavour tolerant as me and will still eat it, there's no downside here. I made some truly weird and messed up shit when I first started cooking for myself, and it just helped me learn better.
Cooking for others is when the stakes are a bit higher, and I will never not be at least a little anxious about that.
