David Richardson, the new head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, told staff on Friday he will "run right over" anyone that resists changes and that all delegation of authority in the agency is immediately suspended.

Richardson spoke one day after he was appointed to replace acting FEMA chief Cameron Hamilton, who was ousted by Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem after telling a congressional hearing he did not support eliminating the agency.

Sweet mother nature I hereby beseech you:

Serve up hurricane upon hurricane upon hurricane upon the US south for apparently they wishith to pull upon bootstraps.

May you all have the day you voted for

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 19 points 18 hours ago (3 children)

Whoa whoa whoa. I might be in Texas, but I certainly didn't vote for this administration. Yes, I have boots and yes I use the straps to pull up my boots, but I also recognize and vocalize that no one can pull themselves up by their bootstraps and furthermore that some people can't even afford boots.

Wish for something more localized, like bigot-eating wolves or racist-seeking lightning.

Racist-seeking lightning . . . you may be on to something there.

Anyone know about smoting?

It would be a bad day to wear a tinfoil hat.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 11 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

May the hurricanes completely spare you and your loved ones then.

[–] thefartographer@lemm.ee 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Define "loved ones." Some relatives who I used to respect did vote for this.

[–] entwine413@lemm.ee 2 points 15 hours ago

I just stopped talking to those relatives.

Yeah, there are absolutely people in the south working to change things. Especially in local elections.

Dorchester County council (SC) recently tipped Democratic in a special election. I hate to get all "correlated" up in here, but the last time that happened was shortly before Nixon resigned.
