How is this unexpected?

Trump said he would tax citizens/businesses with tariffs if he was elected, and that's what he's doing. Obviously that's going to put businesses out of business and people out of jobs.

And it's only going to get worse. There's about to be a whole lot more desperate people in this country. Expect crime to increase.
