Only because they know it doesn’t matter (ain’t even gonna get a vote in the House). This is just MAGAts trying to appear “reasonable” - don’t let them escape their history!

That's not the only reason. Canada is now in an election cycle and the current Conservative party leader aligns well with Trump. Up until these tariffs and the 51st state business, his party had a sizable lead. His main opponent is the leader of the currently in-power Liberal party and is ready to fight a trade war with the US. The opposition from the south gave them a massive boost in the polls.

You guys backing off of the tarriffs makes the Conservative party more attractive again, assuming people's memories are short enough.

I sincerely doubt it. I think that ship sailed. No amount of backtracking will erase those memories in time for the election.

People are fucking birds.

You can interpret that sentence however you see fit.

Why would you insult birds like that? Birds are awesome and wonderful. Also, if you think birds don't have good memories and aren't intelligent look at corvids(such as crows) and parrots.

Would not recommend having a staring contest with any one of them, even if it started it. If one looks at you, for the love of all that is self-preservation, look away. They don't seem to like eye contact, and they hold grudges... for a very, very long time.
