I question this post because no one seems to agree with you that reddit is a welcome place for emojis... They are rare there and tend to get downvoted
Specific communities had one or two that were acceptable, but they seemed pretty site specific. Like I think ๐ฟ was pretty common.
I think you're in the minority with this
There definitely was a shift. People and subreddits that existed before the mass influx of phone / app users tended to hold onto the hate of emojis but there was definitely no stopping all the newer younger users that didn't know and rightfully wouldn't care about what smileys are acceptable on a forum :)
