I personally don't think sports should be gendered, but people should be placed in different "leagues".
Similar to how chess players with similar ratings play with each other.
Atheletes should be categorized by skill, regardless of gender.
Fun fact, a recent study reported that cis women have an advantage over trans women in sports due to their higher testosterone levels allowing them to build more muscle mass.
You know, the same argument transphobes use against letting trans people be athletes because of their supposed "biological advantage."
Which is the same one that's been used for almost a century now to ban black women from women's sports due to their naturally higher testosterone levels when compared to white women.
As if they give a shit about science. They only use it when the results match their worldview. Otherwise they just ignore it.
Accurate.
It's more nuanced than that. It depends on how long you've lived as a male before transitioning and how long ago you transitioned. Also not all trans people are taking hormones.
How long you've been taking hormones is the important part. How long you've lived as amab only really matters until a certain point, as it's very difficult to maintain muscle mass from before you started hormones. And afab people have to build up muscle mass even when they start taking testosterone.
And yes, not every trans person is taking hormones or even will. But I have yet to hear of a single example of a trans person in regulated sports who wasn't competing in the division of their gender while on HRT. Even the preteen kids were on puberty blockers.
Glad they finally got around to proving that. It's been obvious in a theoretical sense for a long time.
it's already the case. nothing is stopping women competing in so called male leagues. I wonder why they don't ... must be the patriarchy.
Is there anything stopping males from competing in female leagues?

Feminists gaslighting & moving goalposts
Radical feminists don't want that kind of equality, and it could get the ball rolling for equivalent pay for male models / adult film actors. I lack any strong opinion on the subject but have no interest personally in watching men's beach volleyball. -When you disregard the draw of the event when it comes to pay; you're messing with the financials surrounding the event. -May as well go full bore communism then. Let people be forced to work and starve so they can learn that capitalism and the traditional ways (outside of religious influence) weren't so bad.
This is a pretty fucked up opinion
Do you really think people aren't already being forced to work and starve under capitalism? How much do you think your job pays the janitor? What about fast food workers? Mailmen? Do you think they're all living comfortably and can easily afford food and rent?
