I want to know what kind of apps/programs y'all recommend to people or just use personally. This is just in general, could be anything from a game to a media codec. I personally use Linux but stuff for other operating systems is welcome too.

Why not get rewarded for it as well?

[–] asudox@discuss.tchncs.de 0 points 2 days ago (7 children)

yeah ok. It's not like nobody rewards donators

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 days ago (6 children)

Really? What does Mozilla do?

I genuinely have no idea

wdym? we were discussing donations. no?

if you are back on the privacy topic, let's just say they aren't as privacy-friendly as they say they are. I wouldn't be using anything firefox-based browsers if other usable alternatives existed. their sandboxing is pretty bad on android. which is also why, for example, grapheneOS ships vanadium, which is a chromium based browser.

You just claimed that donations are already rewarded, I am asking how.

[–] asudox@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

no no, there seems to be a misunderstanding.

I said:

It’s not like nobody rewards donators

I referred to others like FSF that reward users by giving them something. For example, Signal gives badges in their app.

Ok, so Mozilla does nothing?

Then why is my idea bad?

[–] asudox@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I just personally don't like it.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 2 points 2 days ago

Ok, that is fine, you don't have to like it.

It is just an idea from a guy who is not even on the same continent as Mozilla HQ is
