seeing footage of the last hostage handover was awe-inspiring. hundreds of militants, thousands of supporters rallying in the streets, surrounded by destroyed buildings. talk about steadfast.

it's obvious why the zionist entity wont allow anymore sights like those.

The zionist Holocaust has radicalized both ends of society. You're right that the civil parts of society have fought against the zionist entity throughout boycotts, protests, direct action, truth-telling, etc., and they will continue to do so. At the same time, tthe inhuman parts of society have fought just as hard to erode, erase, exile, villify, and outlaw pro-Palestinian thought and action (including Palestinian existence), and they won't stop here either. There's no going back in either direction.

I'm also weary of the liberal tendency to forget everything as soon as it is "finished". Over 1 million Americans died of COVID in the last ~5 years, and many more continue to die by COVID, and hundreds of millions of Americans don't give a shit.

It's day 0 of a permanent ceasefire. I want to be hopeful, but it feels really hard right now. doggirl-gloom

In America, you cannot become a mayor of a city if you have the wrong opinions on federal foreign policy

Yup. Worth noting that the poll reported on in your link was from November 2023. It's been 22 months of genocide, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians killed in Gaza, millions more robbed of their futures, and israeli Jews still want more blood in late 2025. israel is a completely irredeemable society if you ask me.

It’s like the Canadian ruling class believe the worst part about colonization was that the European settlers didn’t do land acknowledgments while committing genocide against Indigenous people

Yup, the capitalist revolutions that defined the dissolution of the USSR were disastrous in so many respects. The cost of these revolutions was millions of premature deaths. Things like living standards, income, mortality, etc. took years/decades to recover. So much progress was lost.

It also makes you rethink a lot of young people talking about "My parents fled XYZ...". A lot of these stories are of people fleeing the devastation caused by neoliberal shock therapy and capitalist revolution in post-Soviet states.

I hope that left-libs who are on the fence about AES would be sympathetic to this framing. But lord knows that many conservatives would be excited by that history replaying again in AES like China, DPRK, Vietnam, Venezuela, etc.

Yup, he was positioning himself extremely effectively to occupy the power vacuum that Trump would eventually (presumably) leave in the American right

One interesting tidbit is that Harris voters are 15% more likely to say political violence is sometimes justified than Trump voters.

To them, it’s only violence if it’s against anti-cracker-aktion

it's a sign of awful times that mis/disinformation like this spreads exponentially faster than any correction or redaction ever could.

for countless people, the cat is out of the bag regarding the shooter's "trans ideology", left-wing views, etc., and many of them will deny any and all information that disproves it.

and for the same reasons that this malpractice is particularly harmful, these journalists, talking heads, and outlets face little to no repercussion.

the man's behavior was threatening and he did not obey the officers' orders

"comply or die" is such a stupid, barbaric mentality for pigs to apply to a person in crisis
