I've been seeing the same thing, even the local subreddit for my area which is very lib had a well upvoted comment suggesting PSL and organizing with people in an underground manner to counter ICE and Trump in general, on a post basically asking how to stop the nazis. And there were few suggestions to vote I saw upvoted aside from some talking about midterms.

They are working on manipulating a good amount of legislation through the supreme court and executive orders, but I would guess they would justify the legality of any action during immigration enforcement as necessary for "national security", preserving "public order", protecting federal agents or other reasons that essentially make any action legal if argued well enough when challenged. It seems to me though they aren't necessarily worried about the legality or long-term consequences such as lawsuits that might come at this stage, but appeasing their base and agitating specific resistant areas to justify further crackdowns on activists and immigrants that would be more likely to cause issues in a widespread conflict.

I would think too that wide-sweeping legislative action could trigger push back from a broader range of people across the country. In many areas of the country people aren't seeing any sort of ICE action or militarized police crackdowns, it's hard to gauge the severity of the anti-immigration campaign if you aren't tuned into the sources on the ground. By keeping more of the violence "spontaneous" rather than top-down through legislation, they can claim more plausible deniability, attempting to keep the 'simmer' of unrest at a manageable level.

I don't think it would be too complicated for someone with tech knowledge to do that, I do remember at least one app that was meant for that specifically but I can't seem to find a good one at the moment. I think there are native apps for most android versions that can auto-sync your storage data to a PC or other device, most of those would be connected to the complicit companies like you mention but some like on Xaomi phones are at least Chinese owned.

On June 10th, during violent immigration raids at two farm sites in Carpinteria and Camarillo, California, several workers were critically injured and one, Jaime Alanis, has died as a result of his injuries. Elizabeth Strater, national vice-president of the United Farm Workers, said Alanis was injured after a 30ft fall from a building during the raid. I haven't yet seen the specific circumstances that led to his falling or the other injuries.

Community members and family of workers responded to the raid, federal vehicles were pelted with rocks and other objects, no reports of officers injured. Four US citizens were arrested for “assaulting or resisting officers”. Feds have offered a $50,000 reward for information of one person suspected of firing a gun at federal agents. In a statement regarding the incident yesterday, the United Farm Workers have said several US citizens remain unaccounted for.

The mother of an American worker said her son was held at the worksite for 11 hours and told her agents took workers’ cellphones to prevent them from calling family or filming and forced them to erase cellphone video of agents at the site.

The woman said her son told her agents marked the men’s hands with ink to distinguish their immigration status. She spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because she feared reprisals from the government.

I saw it reported by someone on bluesky that a community member detained without charges was not allowed to be released until they deleted footage of the raid from their phone.

A thank you to CARCOSA for the topic recently about increasing accessibility for all our users. I think I have added alt text to the image here, something I haven't done here previously but should be standard practice for these sorts of posts I believe. I wasn't sure how to do it, that's what the bracketed box on images in a post is for, right?

The Guardian: Farm worker dies a day after chaotic immigration raid at California farm

I think they had already critically injured several farm workers and others at that point, their blood-rage was somewhat sated.

Someone is doing "antifascist" agitprop in the government bathroom

PBS News:

A State Department employee shared with PBS News an image from inside the department. The image includes a piece of paper taped to a mirror with the words, "Colleagues, if you remain: RESIST FASCISM. Remember the oath you vowed to uphold."

I specifically know it from reading the Geneva conventions, they say military actions using 'perfidy' like disguising equipment as civilian are banned.

From melbeuer on bluesky

Major speculation that this raid was a photo op, but it’s worth noting that activists who were tipped off showed up to the park early to throw up flyers and comb through the park to alert neighbors

A full soccer field that was active this morning was completely cleared by the time ICE arrived

I'm seeing reports from activists that they knew they were planning this big raid for a while and tipped people off, would make sense there were no arrests if that was the case unless it was just a photo op.

I could see countries making agreements with the US to hold deportees, then give the US lists of people from their country that they want detained. Like if you are a journalist opposed to a right wing regime, that regime could tell the US your name and they could target you with ICE.

I saw it a while ago before he got popular so I'm thinking not but I don't know where it's from.

LOS ANGELES, June 6 (Reuters) - Helmeted police in riot gear turned out on Friday evening in a tense confrontation with protesters in downtown Los Angeles, after a day of federal immigration raids in which dozens of people across the city were reported to be taken into custody.

Live Reuters video showed Los Angeles Police Department officers lined up on a downtown street wielding batons and what appeared to be tear gas rifles, facing off with demonstrators after authorities had ordered crowds of protesters to disperse around nightfall.

Early in the standoff, some protesters hurled chunks of broken concrete toward officers, and police responded by firing volleys of tear gas and pepper spray. Police also fired "flash-bang" concussion rounds. It was not clear whether there were any immediate arrests.

An LAPD spokesperson, Drake Madison, told Reuters that police on the scene had declared an unlawful assembly, meaning that those who failed to leave the area were subject to arrest.

Television news footage earlier in the day showed caravans of unmarked military-style vehicles and vans loaded with uniformed federal agents streaming through Los Angeles streets as part of the immigration enforcement operation.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents targeted several locations, including a Home Depot in the city's Wetlake District, an apparel store in the Fashion District and a clothing warehouse in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles City News Service (CNS).

CNS and other local media reported dozens of people were taken into custody during the raids, the latest in a series of such sweeps conducted in a number of cities as part of President Donald Trump's extensive crackdown on illegal immigration.

Henry is a proud father of 11, but he didn't become a father until 2009, around at least 110 years into his life. He long had aspirations of a family and had a few dates in the 1980s which ended poorly after he bit off his dates tail. He hatched sometime in the 1890s, making him the oldest known tuatara alive today, and holds the record for longest time in captivity at 46 years (he is a political prisoner due to his violent agitation in favor of Māori self-determination).

He is held along with Mildred, the mother of his children, and several other tuataras at the Queens Park animal reserve in Invercargill, New Zealand. He and his associates have never been formally charged with a crime.
