In medicine we are taught that the first line treatment for insomnia is treating the underlying illness—in your case, potentially depression— otherwise, CBT-i (cognitive behavioral therapy - insomnia).

So my first recommendation is to seek care from your physician for your depression.

Otherwise, there are well described self taught classes for CBT-i. I have told patients to check out the VA's website for this: https://mobile.va.gov/app/cbt-i-coach

It is a lot of the sleep hygeine described in another excellent post hew.

The long and short of it is that Google has well documented instances of bribing/paying companies to not offer their apps on other stores, and Apple simply runs their walled-garden. Google deleted evidence of them doing this, which looks very shady. Also, the judge in the Apple case took an incredibly narrow view, something like "digital mobile gaming transactions". So Apple's 30% cut seemed to be in line with competitors.

Of course, I don't think either should be allowed to do this, but the legal argument against Google is stronger imo.

Depending on your needs, if you want the most effective filtering for the price (though at the cost of noise) you could make your own https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corsi%E2%80%93Rosenthal_Box . I built one and found it to be great, but I did end up buying a commercial one through Costco years later.

I was quite lucky to see an i'iwi when I went to Kaua'i Hawai'i. Unfortunately only a couple hundred left because of avian malaria.

Someone with a uterus and a history of ovarian cancer likely isn't a candidate for estradiol, but there are other treatments. Maybe estrogen + progestin to prevent unopposed endometrial proliferation. Though I hope OP can find a doctor who can help with hormone replacement if that is what his partner wants.

What do these diagnoses have to do with learning? In my experience, these conditions can manifest in many different ways for people.

At the hospital I worked at there were no transmissions of COVID from known infected patients to providers wearing N95 masks (at least in the first 2 years, I didn't keep up with it after that). So if you are wearing N95s you should feel quite confident that you are protecting yourselves without requiring behavior modifications from anyone else.

This was a really nice tech review! I think she took a sensible approach and didn't bog it down with advertisements for new features no one cares about.

I live in the US and me and all my friends pronounce SNES as SNess. (And NES as Ness) for what it is worth. It seems to be somewhat common as my friends who grew up on the other side of the country say it this way too.
