Does anyone know if / how well the federation between Iceshrimp and Lemmy works?

-❔ How are posts from Lemmy (with headline + URL) displayed on Iceshrimp?

-❔ Can you find Lemmy posts in Iceshrimp by searching for the URL?

-❔ Can you follow Lemmy communities from Iceshrimp?

-❔ Can you post to Lemmy communities from Iceshrimp?

The first three points work with Sharkey (one of the Misskey/Firefish forks), but unfortunately posting does not.

Yes, sorry, I had overlooked that. That's why I recommended Lufi afterwards.

[–] caos@feddit.de 2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

Oh, over the Internet, not just the local network ... then maybe Lufi?

for example this instance: https://upload.disroot.org/

Works well, but not particularly fast with large amounts of data (up to 2GB possible)

KDE-Connect? https://kdeconnect.kde.org/

It works very well for the data exchange between Linux, Android, iOS and Microsoft devices. https://apps.kde.org/kdeconnect/

Of course, it can do a lot more, it's a bit oversized for just data exchange

Q4os with Trinity desktop really needs little RAM and runs fast even on old devices. The desktop is a bit old-fashioned, but ok. You may also try lighter browsers, perhaps Palemoon.

But 4GB is actually not that little, almost all distros can run well with it, especially rather slim ones like Debian lxqt. maybe it's really due to the hdd.

The development of UAD has been stopped/paused. The fork Universal Android Debloater Next Generation continues it

I don't know, I have very good experiences with the Antennas. It (almost always) delivers the expected content. Do you perhaps have a keyword that is also (part of) an instance name?

Then it would have to be added as an excluded word.

[–] caos@feddit.de 6 points 7 months ago (4 children)

The topic of the instance only really plays a role in Mastodon. With Sharkey and most other Fediverse software, there are much better features for structuring the content you are interested in. In Friendica, for example, via the channels and in Sharkey, Misskey and its other forks with the Antennas / News Picker

Ja, das ist auch ein Meisterwerk, aber ich vermisse doch etwas die Stimme / Yes, this is also a masterpiece, but I do miss the voice a bit

Es gibt aber anscheinend verschiedene Versionen und Teile von "Poem Without Words". Welche meintest Du davon? / But apparently there are different versions and parts of "Poem Without Words". Which one did you mean?

Ich habe sie kürzlich erst live erleben dürfen 🤩 Dies ist einer meiner Favoriten von den "neueren" Songs (vom Album "The Smallest Acts Of Kindness")

"Night And my nerve endings Coded messages they′re sending Twitch and tingle Blink and twinkle Restless as the million stars I've counted Overhead tonight

Spinning My head and stomach All gravity and magnets Each contrary, rotating planets Pulling sleep away

With every hour making minutes Am I outside my life or in it And all this music That′s making waves within it Can I find one song to sing it?

All the words I've strung like beads All the words that stung like bees to bring it A little fruit, a hue or two, a sign of something Or someone that I knew And this life feels like so many different lives I'm falling through

Night Dizzy night I can′t recognise the cycle of the years The source of all my fear The source that led me here

Your boys′ cologne, your beer The presence of our fathers ever near Sacred secrets you whisper in my ear

All this tonight As you move closer to me Your light will eclipse and will absorb The darkness that confounds my foolish all Place harmony where there has been discord"

" Pearl Jam announce new album 'Dark Matter,' share title track - Pearl Jam have announced Dark Matter, their 12th album and the followup to 2020’s Gigaton. Guitarist Mike McCready promised an album that’s “a lot heavier than you’d expect” in an interview with Classic Rock last fall, and following the dancier vibes of Gigaton, Dark Matter‘s lead single and title track does indeed feel like a return to Pearl Jam’s classic ’90s grungy hard rock vibes. Check it out below. The album drops April 19 via Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records." https://www.brooklynvegan.com/pearl-jam-announce-new-album-dark-matter-share-title-track

I am currently collecting tips for easy entry into mapping. One of the top recommendations is of course StreetComplete, which is available for Android.

iOS users keep asking for something comparable for their OS. For an equally simple start with OSM, there is Every Door, which is also available for iOS. It's a very good app, but it really doesn't have the fun factor of StreetComplete and the UI is likely to scare off iOS users in particular.

There is also MapComplete, which can be used as a web app.

Do you have any other recommendations or ideas for iOS-Users?

The original article is in German, here are a few sections translated: "There are many tools to conduct online surveys, both for small simple surveys and for more complex surveys in a scientific setting. Some of them, such as Cryptpad Forms and LimeSurvey, are also open source - an overview. (...)

Tools for simple surveys: Cryptpad Forms, Nextcloud Forms, FramaForms

Tools for more complex surveys: But also for more complex surveys there are now a variety of different software offerings. Unipark and SosciSurvey are tried and tested here, but with FormR and LimeSurvey there are also open source alternatives. (...)

Conclusion With Cryptpad Forms or Nextcloud Forms for simple surveys and LimeSurvey or FormR for more complex surveys, there are now very good open source solutions for conducting online surveys that cover different requirements.

Questions for you What experience do you have with the online survey tools presented here? Which other tools have you already used and how can you recommend them?"
