It's quite common with people who are incredibly successful, they figure:
"Hell, I'm successful in xyz, I must be really smart at everything. Everyone should listen to what I have to say about everything because I made it, and that means I clearly know better than everyone else!"

Exactly! There's no reason to be that way, other than to feel superior to someone. And that's just kinda a shit way to be!

It's fucked up, but you could try the Mormons. They do this thing, retroactive conversion, so someone becomes Mormon, and they go back and make all that person's ancestors "Mormon". So they have incredibly good ancestry records. Just a thought.

that could have been solved with a google search

This is very quickly becoming untrue. Actually, I'd argue that it's been somewhat not the case for some situations, that I've personally encountered, for over a decade. There's times when I search forums for days, finally find someone who's experiencing the exact same issue as me. The post is marked solved! Fuck yeah!
The post:

OP: Hey guys, I'm trying to fix xyz and I'm not able to find anything on it. Could I get some help?

Two months after initial post:

Only reply is OP: Nevermind guys, I figured it out.

Me: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

How likely are you to not be able to access the internet at a UK border you might be traveling through? Seriously.

There's been quite a few times where I've not been able to access the internet through my phone at major airports in the UK. Heathrow, Luton, Glasgow. I didn't have an active UK SIM I wasn't able to get net connection through the WiFi as they were overloaded/having issues. This is not uncommon.

Also, have you heard of a download for offline usage?

See, it's not a multi-use thing, it's not like a membership card or a boarding pass or a credit card. It's a code that's generated by logging into the .gov site, and is only valid for a single use, and a limited time.

I had an argument shortly after the great migration. Someone had posted a video essay on something gaming related and the person I responded to was adamant that a video couldn't be an essay. It was a two hour deep dive into the topic, with graphs/journalistic photos/news video snippets, and the video info section had a citation list longer than your arm.
This person couldn't understand that just because the creator had decided to present their essay in video format, didn't mean it wasn't an essay. All they had to say basically boiled down to:
only stupid people watch a video this long when you could read the equivalent amount of information in less than half the time.

Needless to say, that got my hackles up a tad.

So I work annualised hours, based on a 35hr work week. So summer hour are Mon thru Fri 41hrs total, winter is Mon thru Thurs 31hrs total. I actually like the setup, as a mason I'd actually not mind doing longer hours than we are in the summer and even shorter in the winter, as the weather is too shit in the winter to actually get anything done anyway.

I immigrated to the UK from Canada with my cat. He was able to go below in the cargo area. I had to get him a few rounds of rabies vaccines, microchipped and a pet passport. Then the cost of his flight with mandatory insurance was about $300 more than my flight. He had an extra 4 hours before the plane departed, and 6 after. Some animals wouldn't have had toooo hard a time with it, but he was traumatised. It took him more than a week to come out from behind the couch for longer than to use his litter box and eat.

I'll never be taking him out of the country again.

Was it a Lambo, was it in Vancouver, where you driving the truck I was riding in delivering appliances? If so, that was absolutely hilarious, and I hope you're doing good 👍

During Prime Minister's Questions in the House of Commons, Sultana said: "In the light of the anniversary of the horrific October 7 attacks, I again repeat the call for the immediate release of all hostages."

At the start of the war, Hamas offered to release all hostages in exchange for Israel releasing all Palestinian prisoners. By October 2023, Israel held 5,200 Palestinians, including 170 children, in its prisons.

Just saying.....

I'm a Canadian immigrant to the UK, from December 1st this year, all Residency proof documents are ~~formed~~ forced digital. As I'm Canadian I can just scan my passport and get in, no visa required. If border control pulls me aside and demands my proof of residency, and I can't access the internet, I may be stuck in a small room for hours or days, or ejected from the country. So that's gonna be fun.

Yeah, I'm having a lot of trouble with my Nvidia card right now in Garuda Arch. It's a 1060, so about time to update anyway.
