Power to that, friend. The change always begins at home.

I believe it is essential to distinguish between "When are we gonna learn?" when talking about these points. It is not that "we didn't learn"; we who understand or are very attentive to the ecological issues are a group of people doing something. Hence, the greens, in general, need to understand politics.

The job of ecologism is only effective if you address root causes (there is a joke about trees over here). Exploiting non-renewable resources is not a choice made by individuals but rather a result of the societal structures that dictate our actions. Currently, those structures are hierarchical.

So I'd like to use this occasion to invite my fellow ecologists and solarpunks to be interested in that spiky thing called "Politics." We must address issues to push our creative minds to build the future.

Man, these last days we have been cooked alive in Rio. The thermal sense is unbearable. Good thing rain just arrived, but I can't even imagine how hot that concert should have been. To say the truth, I'm surprised no more people died of heat over there.

Found some niche communities with people who do really enjoy sharing some knowledge, artisans and artist. They have a communal spirit that makes my heart go warm.

Sure, here are some examples:

As you may imagine, they aren't finding their way to exist easy. But they sure are having success in learning how to create a horizontal society.

Yeah, is a bad deal.

But that's not the point, the point of this approach is that like in cooperatives, there are minimum productivity goals and many roles to play, and so on. Obviously like you point out, no one is that stupid.

Now, consider the needs of people who are old or need help. Like helping your old man, I'm sure you don't mind getting more apples. I wouldn't. Like you, I would get angry if I'm the only useful one hahaha, but that what productivity and organization is for. No one lives in a bubble.

Now... What you said, I've seen it happen in capitalism. Not in small businesses, normally the owner is in the store too. I mean when we talk about the big bucks like a better example. They expect you to handle of those apples, and ain't offering you a comfy home neither.

It is staggering for me to see that many people in the United States doesn't even know what being 'American' in a sense of patriotism means. I mean not in a sense of collective identity in a territory, but in the sense of what it means in terms of politics. It is, in the end, the side that matters: Banana Republics, Israel, Plan Condor, etc.

So if you are American, it is important to me that you understand that, like any person living under a state, you should be always aware about politics. It is the way we decide, it is the thing that gives money its value and the sphere were the question 'violence to who' is chosen. I pretty much became an anarchist because I studied the history of Chile, I lived in Venezuela when Hugo Chavez won the elections and like many others escaped from the hunger that came as consequence both of the historical problem with agriculture in the region and the economical block from USA.

I want you to understand and support the guys that today are working towards a better world for EVERYONE. The reason why I think Solarpunks got their heart in the right place when people dream about these societies of justice, harmony, creativity and vigorous love for the well-being of humanity and everything it depends to exist. So keep up the good work you guys who already are taking the step to influence culture, the ideas that cause political action, that mobilize people to work toward this obviously better direction of the future against doomerism, and Hobbesian views of the "natural order of things". Our lives may depend on it, both from Latinos and the rest of the world.

Totally. Let's change the world, and be the change we want to see in the world. And of course, understanding the complex sociological problems that lead people to not be able to afford Eco-friendly solutions while looking for ways to make that change possible. 🤗 Direct action is the way to go, voting is more of a "support" tool to kinda move the needle.
