Fuzzy skin, ironing, compile your own firmware, swap mainboards...this is a pointless solution that can only result in worse parts for the least technical users.

You don't need to build out a giant shack with a tower and 1kW of transmit to get on the air and hit decent ranges! There's a ton of 5-10W pocket sized radios that'll give you surprisingly great results with just a wire thrown up a tree branch, some under $40 if you wanna learn the dit-dahs. The equipment is way less important than how you set it up, and anything is better than nothing. Get on the air and have fun!
You want to go to the Island.
Eh fuck em. I'll wave 'till I die. 👋
The only reason I still have Android is work apps in required to have that won't work properly without the Play Store. I guess I could carry two phones but I am definitely not that guy.
It sounds fun but I think they may be a bit overwhelmed with signups lately.
Yep, that's how the new one is getting HDMI. They've collaborated with several of the major hardware guys and put it all together in a pretty package at a cheaper price then doing it myself. I already have a bunch of hardware, this is just a splurge.
Maybe I'm an idiot, but I ordered one when they announced it. I have 2 perfectly good C64s already but the CRT whine drives my dog and kid nuts, so looking forward to HDMI!
I use them to both maximize desktop space for multitasking (my monitor splits evenly into two 4:3 windows side by side) and keep my tasks organized, as I tend to let my brain wander of distracted. Been using i3 for like a decade now.
I've been getting moderately better results with an L-theanine supplement when I have my first coffee.
