Been trying to create a post about this and I'll get around to it when life isn't kicking my ass, but we definitely sealed the deal of overthrowing them because of macadamia nuts. Sugar cane, pineapples, and macadamia nuts not native to the island. But it takes 7 to 10 years for the macadamia nut tree to mature to bear fruit. Colonizers planted these under the guise that it was for wind protection for the sugar cane. Then literally right when those trees started to mature they did the coup. Macadamia nuts are the most expensive nuts in the world.
