But the idea that he was an intelligence agent or anything more than a source in exchange for his own protection is ridiculous.

The intelligence rumors are bunk.

Yes, It's possible that Epstein shared compromising information about people to law enforcement in exchange for protection but that's it. The cover and financial support he got was from people had had dirt on

NUMEROUS people close to him knew he taped all his guests having sex, knew that he kept details on them and their families. When he was arrested the first time they found cash, a fake passport and DVDs with names on them and videos of sex

Epstein wasn't some genius financier, he didn't earn his money; he got it from manipulating and taking advantage of people in his circles.

He can’t get anyone in Israel to go down on him so he’s got to go to trump for it

[–] KbSez@piefed.social 22 points 1 week ago (5 children)

he told them what he was going to do and yet every study since the election has shown "Trump nearly won a majority of Latino voters in 2024, Pew study finds"

Who did they think he was going to hurt if not them? They voted for him because he was going to deport and hurt someone brown... someone else but who did they think he was going to go after and not them?

I really hope Latinos who didn't vote for this madman and his enablers hold those who did to account and make sure they can't hide from their decision

SO this ass is finally doing something..... not when he was tearing down democracy... not when he was killing the economy and destroying our relationships with the world... not when he's taking away people's rights or shipping people off to countries for concentration camps... but boy, talk planes and Chuck is all over that.

No more strongly worded letters for Mr Tough Guy. Watch out.

Total bullsh!t.

He's doing what needs to be done: he is challenging the old guard because they are failing and that's what we need.

We need more David Hogg and less Chuck "write a strongly worded letter" Schumer. We need a dozen AOC's and Jasmine Crockett's.

Saved you a click:

The primary barrier remains the lack of access to competitively priced, long-term power, according to the industry.

“Energy costs are a significant factor in the overall production cost of a smelter,” said Ami Shivkar, principal analyst of aluminum markets at analytics firm Wood Mackenzie. “High energy costs plague the US aluminium industry, forcing cutbacks and closures.”

“Canadian, Norwegian, and Middle Eastern aluminium smelters typically secure long-term energy contracts or operate captive power generation facilities. US smelter capacity, however, largely relies on short-term power contracts, placing it at a disadvantage,” Shivkar added, noting that energy costs for U.S. aluminum smelters were about $550 per tonne compared to $290 per tonne for Canadian smelters.
