This was nearly an hour after he was shot, when everyone was still crouched down and confused. The video posted by the NYPost says it was 50 minutes after he was shot. I think the guy was trying to recreate the energy from the Trump assassination attempt, when people chanted USA, maybe not realizing how serious it was.

"weather reports for various geographic areas or simple biographies" They somehow found a lower level than "YouTuber reads wikipedia"

Yeah, don't read Facebook comments. I know sometimes they're like a car crash that grabs your morbid curiosity but they truly drain your faith in humanity.

I feel like a good example of this system is in the book/movie Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas. As messed up as Hunter and his lawyer got, they seem to alternate who is more fucked up and who is more functional, such that at no point is one of them left alone to completely spiral out. For example, Hunter convinces his lawyer not to kill himself in the bathtub, and his lawyer looks after Hunter when he takes too much adrenochrome. And as a person who once lost his mind on mushrooms on a busy street, the fact that armed thugs are the ones who show up when a person is acting erratically doesn't help anything.

"Dont tase me bro" was when I felt like the word stopped being just a California beach bum thing and became everyone's go-to term for a person they don't know

The younger generation just gambles on their phones now. DraftKings and FanDuel have created a whole new generation of gambling addicts, but they've lost too much of their money to go to Vegas even if they wanted to

Yeah I found it disturbing to read that the author tried, but then I realized that if they didn't and subsequently reported that it worked, then it would just generate CSAM for pedos until eventually someone DID report it

The old saying I use is "You cannot wake a person who is pretending to sleep"

We all change as we age, or at least we should to some degree. I've been very lucky to discover that some of my dearest long-term friends have also moved toward full-blown communist ideologies, but also have some friends who grew up rich who've moved more right as they've aged and money has isolated them from the working class. If you don't feel like you can be who you are around them, they aren't your friend. If you two simply disagree on things, then at least you could try having more spirited conversations to get them to see your point of view...

When the Supreme Court ruled a president could do anything so long as it was done "as part of a president's official duties", including literal assassination, it was clear the fascists knew the Dems were toothless.
