Or they can have a trusted adult put them in the microwave for a few seconds to soften them up a bit first

There's no quote from Biden (aka 'his words') in the article you linked saying he'll be a 1 term president. That's reality.

Oh you can definitely be both of those things, you just can't say it out loud publicly. That's the only thing he messed up in Republicans' eyes

Yes absolutely, the polite thing to do would be to stare at the man's disfigurement for the entire meal...

The answer is money and eliminating competition for money

When someone breaks into your home you don't have much of an opportunity to figure out why. Many times the reason is not to steal things and buy meth. Sometimes it's to hurt, rape, or kidnap someone. Why take that chance?

You might be picturing someone slowly walking up and executing a pleading, weaponless burglar in cold blood. In reality these things happen with mere seconds to make a decision about the safety of you and your family. Again, Why take the chance?

If you're breaking into a house, getting shot is a calculated risk you have chosen to take. If it happens, it's only your fault. You had the choice to not put yourself or anyone else in harm's way, and you chose the other option.

The way US politics has gone the last 30 years, the advisory board would be politicized and polarized within 3 election cycles, no matter how the board itself is selected.

I've had a similar thought about it. The timing of him dropping out was near perfect in hindsight, right after the Republicans locked Trump and Vance in and taking all of the wind out of their sails right when they were eyeing the finish line. If someone planned that far in advance they'll definitely deserve to gloat!

338k people suddenly registering in one day is news.

As a journalist, the logical question when writing that article would be "why did so many people register suddenly?" And so you write that part into the article/headline to add context for the reader who will probably have that same question.

Otherwise people say "what a shit article, why is this on the front page of Lemmy? I can look up that number for myself"

Very interesting that you think people don't need help with childcare or affording housing. That's a really nice and privileged bubble that you live in, I hope for your sake it never pops.

Harris answered the questions she was asked, and she was dealing with a non-participant flinging poo as her opponent. She couldn't possibly bring up every subject you wanted her to in the time she was given, especially since a lot of that time ended up going to Trump while he screeched over her and the moderators.
