Reminds me of how China was stupid and backward for overreacting to sars and then overnight we suddenly were told to be very skeptical of their numbers and even question if they leaked it themselves. Legit...I take everything in western media with a huge grain of salt these days.

Ultimately whatever your feelings on this action...Isn't this kinda the inevitable conclusion without any effort to de-escalate?

The ruling class has made it perfectly clear that any and all posturing and moralizing about political violence and human rights is complete cynical horseshit so inevitably you're going to have people that call them on it. Wrong target, wrong method et al.....I don't know how we really are supposed to engage in that kind of dialogue when nobody in authority seems to have any interest in doing so.

I always find it so hilarious that neoliberals will simultaneously build their lives and world views around hypothetical technological solutions that will resolve resource/logistical realities like magic and then turn around and say that the problem with Communism is that its too utopian or idealistic.

I personally know like several guys here in the US that would enter into a relationship with an obviously evil demon if that demon had a cartoonishly artificial set of booba.

I mean to be fair...some of us are into obviously evil demons for their personality....

My dad passed away about 10 years ago due to complications from a long term chronic illness. I've had to do a lot of unpacking and work in that time especially following my own divorce. A pretty common trend you see among kids who have had parents that needed the kind of long term care and medical impact my dad had is it's not really until after they pass that you can sort of separate them as a person from the disease and the impact it had on your lives. We also have some weird overlaps with children of narcissistic parenting because we usually wind up not having all our needs met growing up. Lots of codependency issues.

Tldr; I had a great dad and I love and miss him, for all his failings. Honestly: just imagine if Hank Hill was a marine turned chef and you can kinda get the picture. Simple man who couldn't even understand me half the time but loved me unconditionally every second we were together even while he was trying to keep his own shit together.

Comrades...I can't...I just can't. When I heard that they gave trump a "golden pager" I assumed it was some kind of statement that they had a direct 1:1 line of communication or some shit. My jaw hit the fucking floor when my coworker pulled the image up. What disgusts me so much about it is there's actually real artistic thought and visual symbolism behind this "art" representing one of the most grotesque pieces of state sponsored terrorism in recent memory. The Tree trunk clearly represents not only the explosion of the pagers Mossad used but also, along with the pager at the center (the gold being an on the nose representation of Trump) is a twisted symbol of the seed they have planted together for what is to come in the region.

This is straight up comic book, captain planet, final fantasy insanity villain level shit. I fucking can't.

Once they completely solve the burn in problem with OLED, assuming they haven't already, I honestly genuinely don't know where they actually are gonna go from here. Even for gaming (VR not withstanding): 4k HDR+ @120hz is already more than what 99% of the market could ever genuinely want (let alone need) and if you genuinely are that top 1% of prosumers you are almost certainly more invested in a dedicated desktop monitor than a giant TV. For movie/tv watching experiences we're already well past what most content can even handle since nearly everything even at the highest budgets in Hollywood is mastered with a 2k digital intermediary before they upscale it and I don't see that changing anytime in the near future. I'm not sure if it did, with how far ahead TV is of the source content, it would even matter.

Nobody needs 8k. I don't even mean most consumers don't need 8k. I mean even most prosumers or video professionals don't need 8k, let alone 16k which the new HDMI 2.2 spec supports. Its a dead end.

Genuinely: whatever level of media consumer you are I don't think you'll be able to tell much difference if any between a panel released this year and a panel 10 years from now. Its all just quality of life updates and gimmicks from here on out.

I think if you're a 20 year old who wants to fuck a 40 year old that's fine. I think if you're a 40 year old who wants to fuck a 20 year old....well...that's not a crime but....that's kinda gross.
